Edinburgh was the place to go for New Year 2015/2016. The city has it all. Castles, palaces, extinct volcanoes, royal gardens and underground vaults. But we mainly went because Edinburgh is the home of Hogmanay, Scotland’s famous New Year Festival. Full of history and with the most magical surroundings, it’s easy to see how JK Rowling was inspired to write her Harry Potter books here.
2015 marks my first Winter Christmas… and it’s been amazing! The Northern Hemisphere does Christmas well. There are fairy lights everywhere, christmas carols, christmas jumpers, ice skating rinks, winter wonderland and lets not forget christmas markets! Last weekend me and my friends went to Brugge for their Christmas Markets and it did not disappoint.
Sailing a privately chartered boat with Med Sailors through the crystal clear waters of the Adriatic sea was one of the dreamiest weeks of my life. Looking back at these photos while freezing my but off in London makes me want to go back so bad! Every morning we would wake up with not a care in the world. Our sun drenched days were filled with sailing, swimming and exploring . Each day brought on […]
After travelling through Asia, it was time to take on Europe! I have always been obsessed with travelling Europe, especially since my Facebook feed consists of my friends living in London and going away every weekend to amazing places. I chose to do a Contiki trip as it’s a great way to tick off a lot of ‘must do’s’ in a short amount of time. The best thing about it is you don’t have to […]
A boat trip around Halong Bay was the perfect way to finish off our 6 weeks in Asia. There are 1962 islands in the beautiful bay and we went on an overnight cruise to check this stunning place out. We had a jam packed itinerary. Day one consisted of a trip to the largest cave in Halong Bay, a 2 hour kayak, a big lunch and dinner and ‘squid fishing’ off the boat. We managed […]
After 5 weeks of travelling through Asia doing barely any exercise it was time to do some trekking in Sapa. Sapa is a town which is very popular with tourists for trekking. It is situated at the top of Vietnam (North West) near the Chinese border. Sapa has an airy and magical feeling to it with the town being surrounded by mist coated mountains and rice terraces – makes for beautiful scenery while walking. Sapa […]
Hoi An is my FAVOURITE place so far on our whirlwind trip of Bali, Cambodia and Vietnam! Hoi An is situated on the coast in the central part of Vietnam. It is so so beautiful, it’s no wonder it was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO. The old town is situated along the river. Japanese merchant houses, chinese temples, french colonial houses and ancient tea warehouses have been preserved and converted into restaurants, cafes, tailor […]
After another pleasant train ride (3 hours-ish from Mui Ne) we arrived in Nha Trang. Like Mui Ne, Nha Trang is a coastal resort town. Unlike Mui Ne, Nha Trang is very busy and not that relaxing. The beaches are beautiful but are dominated with tourists, again lots of Russians (even more than Mui Ne) but also a lot of locals. All of my friends who had given me advice on Vietnam had told me […]
