Stockholm was the destination of choice for one of my first long weekends away while living in LDN. Sweden’s gorgeous capital is situated on 14 islands connected by over 50 bridges. It’s a cosmopolitan place with both classical and modern architecture. Each neighbourhood is completely different and has their own distinct character.
Edinburgh was the place to go for New Year 2015/2016. The city has it all. Castles, palaces, extinct volcanoes, royal gardens and underground vaults. But we mainly went because Edinburgh is the home of Hogmanay, Scotland’s famous New Year Festival. Full of history and with the most magical surroundings, it’s easy to see how JK Rowling was inspired to write her Harry Potter books here.
2015 marks my first Winter Christmas… and it’s been amazing! The Northern Hemisphere does Christmas well. There are fairy lights everywhere, christmas carols, christmas jumpers, ice skating rinks, winter wonderland and lets not forget christmas markets! Last weekend me and my friends went to Brugge for their Christmas Markets and it did not disappoint.
Sailing a privately chartered boat with Med Sailors through the crystal clear waters of the Adriatic sea was one of the dreamiest weeks of my life. Brighton is a vibrant sea side town, only an hours train ride from London. It’s the perfect destination for a day trip away from the big smoke. Brighton reminds me of home (Wellington, New Zealand) as the place is dripping with culture – cute cafes and antique shops line the streets .

A boat trip around Halong Bay was the perfect way to finish off our 6 weeks in Asia. There are 1962 islands in the beautiful bay and we went on an overnight cruise to check this stunning place out.
