O ur annual Girls Christmas Dinner Party is the highlight of the social calendar. It started a few years ago, and each year it gets better. There has been Mexican, Magical, and Asian Christmases and this year was Under the Sea.
It’s your typical christmas party. Who doesn’t love a pot luck dinner with secret santa, games and a choreographed performance to Mariah Carey. Lets not forget Bublรฉ’s Christmas album on repeat, and aย bit of Justin Bieber’s ‘mistletoe’ throw inย every now and again.
Laura and Nicky held the dinner at their flat and the decorations were amazing!
While the girls prepped their assigned dishes, the rest of us drunk bubbles, ate the delicious entrรฉe and played games. We made sure that one dish from each course wasn’t seafoodย to cater for everyone.
Secret Santa is one of my fave parts of the night. As a tradition, Laura is always Santa. We draw our Secret Santa a few weeks in advance so a lot of thought goes into the gifts. Trying to disguise your gift so that the person can’t figure out who gave it is normally one of my major goals. I made my Secret Santa a cookie mixย (idea from Donna Hay)ย and bought her a FRANK coffee body scrub.ย ย My flat mate, Hannah who makes cards and does beautiful calligraphy (Hannah May Paper Goods)ย wrote in the card for me in an attempt to fool my Secret Santa – my hand writing is similar of that of a 5 year old.
My course was dessert, and I made a white chocolate mud cake. I attempted to make it look under the sea themed by icing the cake with blue coloured icing and topping it withย white chocolate fish… Not the most appealing cake, but it tasted good!
Courtenay nailed her shark fruit salad.
We sung and danced the night away. Thanks girls for such a fun night. Merry Christmas xx
