I can’t rave about this recipe enough! If you are after a hearty winters meal that is super easy, then this is the dish. Place your ingredients in the slow cooker, leave it to cook while you’re at work and then you will return home to the most delicious smell. When you are ready to eat, cook pasta and serve. Simple as that.

Last saturday me and my friends decided to have a pot luck dinner. I said I would do dessert, as it would be a good challenge for me since I normally pick to do savoury dishes over sweet. Currently, I am obsessed with My Kitchen Rules. Everyone on the show always makes their own pastry so I thought I would give it a go. This is a recipe from Annabel Langbein’s book, Simple Pleasures. I absolutely love baked eggs for breakfast! I know I have already posted a recipe for baked eggs on here, but this one is different, and maybe even more delicious! The first baked eggs recipe I posted has a tomato base, but this one has more of a creamy base. So depending on your mood you can pick which one you want to cook for an easy brunch. You can also vary the filling to whatever you have at home i.e. chuck in chorizo, mushroom, leek etc. This is a Nadia Lim recipe, a previous NZ master chef winner. Read More

Ever get home from work and you’re hungry, tired, and so confused as to what to cook? This is the meal for you! This is so quick, and easy. It is definitely my go to meal. Whenever I ask my boyfriend what I should cook, he always suggests this. And it is actually kinda healthy, which is great! This meal would feed 4 girls easily. But, if you are super hungry or you have boys to feed, it is best to serve the toss with a side dish. Last time I made this, I served it with home made kumara chips. Thanks to my girl Annabel Langbein for the recipe.

Beetroot & Red Wine Red Velvet Cake

Beetroot seems to be an ingredient which keeps popping up in a lot of baking recipes recently; and no wonder. Beetroot increases the amounts of nutrients in your cake, so you feel less guilty about the big dollops of icing. It produces a beautiful red colour and also makes things moist (everyones favourite M word). It was time to bake a cake as it was my friend Zoe’s birthday.  Zoe also shares a passion for sweet treats that have a healthy spin, so I thought this would be a good cake to try. Read More
